How we verify deals
When does a price count as a deal?
Hikeventory is a deal platform, not a list of ordinary retail prices. A product only appears as a deal when we can verify a current offer for the exact product variant.
What does count as a deal?
The offer must be current and tied to a retailer product page we have checked. We then require one of two clear price signals: a valid, time-limited retailer promotion, or a current price that is demonstrably below a previous price charged by that same retailer for the exact same variant.
The current and comparison prices must belong to the same variant. We do not mix sizes, colours, generations, capacities or other relevant product details.
What does not count as a deal?
A normal retail price is not a deal. Neither is an RRP, MSRP or another manufacturer reference price if it does not prove that the retailer itself previously charged more.
A historical low does not automatically make today’s price a deal either. Price history can help you judge an offer, but it never turns an ordinary current price into a deal by itself.
The exact variant matters
We match offers to product variants as precisely as possible. If several sizes are grouped on a product card, that is only a presentation choice: the underlying price and stock checks remain separate for each exact size or variant.
Fresh prices and real stock
We only publish recent price information. If an observation becomes too old, the deal disappears until it has been checked again. A product that is known to be out of stock is not presented as a purchasable deal.
Product price, shipping and total price
The product price is always shown separately. When shipping costs are reliably known, we show them and calculate a known total price. If shipping is unknown, we say so instead of estimating it.
When several retailers have an offer, we compare them using factors such as stock and known total price. Affiliate commission, paid placement or another commercial agreement never determines whether a deal qualifies or where it ranks.
Price history is context, not proof
When enough observations are available, the product page can show earlier prices. That history helps you assess the current offer, but it does not decide whether the product is allowed into the current-deals overview.
Public information and commercial partnerships
A retailer can appear on Hikeventory without having a commercial relationship with us. Price information may come from public product information or from an authorised retailer or affiliate source. The same verification rules apply either way.
The retailer’s checkout is final
Hikeventory helps you find and compare offers but does not sell the product. The retailer’s final price, stock, shipping, delivery, returns and other purchase terms therefore always prevail.
